RMCS Afternoons

Red Mountain Community School recognizes the need to offer after school care to our families.  We also know that children need ‘down time’ and leisure in order to pursue their own ideas and choices.  Too much planning and too many ‘oughts’ from grown ups inhibits the child’s growing ability  to govern self.

Our afternoon hours try to blend the need for companionship and solitude.  During Red Mountain Afternoons we offer time in the out of doors ( a long stint of play at the park or the garden is a must), a corner for quiet reading, a healthy snack, created together with local, seasonal food, crafts and lessons in new skills, music lessons (banjo, guitar and ukulele available with enough demand) and jaunts to the library.

Red Mountain Afternoons are offered on Monday-Friday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 p.m.  We also offer early drop off at 7:45 a.m..  For more information and cost of this offering call the school at 218-4965.
